Founded in 1949, the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce began as a group of local businesses, professionals, and community leaders who recognized the value of working together to strengthen the local economy. In its early years, the Chamber expanded to include the Township of Saltfleet, reflecting the growth of the community and the need for a unified business voice.
As Stoney Creek evolved—from township to city, and later through amalgamation into the City of Hamilton in 2001—the Chamber adapted while remaining firmly rooted in its local identity. Unlike many communities, Stoney Creek continues to be served by its own independent Chamber, ensuring that local businesses have a dedicated voice focused specifically on their needs and priorities.
Today, the Chamber continues to build on that legacy—connecting businesses, supporting growth, and advocating on issues that impact our members. While the landscape has changed over the decades, our purpose remains the same: bringing people together to create a strong, vibrant, and prosperous Stoney Creek business community.
