Did you know?

• Stoney Creek is home to businesses making products known far beyond Hamilton.
• Beaches, vineyards, steel plants and waterfalls all fit within the Chamber’s wider service area.
• The Powerhouse began life as a railway power-generating station, not a restaurant.

From steel to world-famous whistles

What do Canadian steel, energy technology, extreme-weather boots and a whistle recognized around the world have in common? Stoney Creek businesses! Chamber members include Kubes Steel, Taylor Steel, Jayne Steel and Janco Steel, along with Fox 40 International, Fero International, Baffin Inc., Northstar Windows & Doors, Hitachi Energy, TSL Aerospace and Winland Foods.

And it is not all big names: specialty manufacturers, skilled trades, logistics companies and independent entrepreneurs are just as much a part of the story.

More than manufacturing

Behind Stoney Creek’s industrial success is a thriving network of businesses and services that keep our community moving. From banks, credit unions and business financing to accountants, auditors, insurance professionals, financial planners and real estate experts, local businesses and residents have access to a wealth of expertise. Health and wellness are equally well represented, with dental care, optometry, chiropractic and foot care services, counselling professionals and many other practitioners. Add our hotels and accommodations, and Stoney Creek offers much more than first meets the eye.

A community that cares

Some of Stoney Creek’s greatest strengths aren’t measured in dollars and cents. Our remarkable not-for-profit organizations, service clubs and volunteers make an extraordinary contribution to community life. From food security and community support to the Lions Club, Rotary, the Royal Canadian Legion and many others, these organizations support neighbours, preserve traditions and bring people together.

Orchards, vineyards and country charm

There's something delicious about Stoney Creek! Follow the Niagara Escarpment toward Winona and discover a countryside filled with orchards, vineyards and farm markets. Pick your own cherries or apples in season, savour fresh Ontario peaches, and explore local favourites including Puddicombe Estate Farms, Fruitland Farms, Sun Valley Farms and Luna Farms. In Binbrook, Murphy's Country Produce adds strawberries, sunflowers and more farm-fresh fun.
And why not make an afternoon of it? Enjoy wine tastings at Leaning Post Wines and Ridge Road Estate Winery, or discover both wines and locally crafted ciders at Puddicombe Estate Farms. It's all part of Stoney Creek's rich agricultural heritage — celebrated every summer at the much-loved Winona Peach Festival!

History that comes alive

Stoney Creek has some remarkable stories to tell! On June 6, 1813, the Battle of Stoney Creek became a significant turning point in the War of 1812. Today, visitors can explore the historic Gage family homestead, now Battlefield House Museum, where the family sheltered in the cellar during the battle. Each June, the popular battle reenactment brings history vividly to life.
Standing proudly in Battlefield Park is the 100-foot Battlefield Monument, unveiled in 1913 by Queen Mary — all the way from London, via telegraph!
And here’s another claim to fame: Stoney Creek is the birthplace of the Women’s Institute! Founded in 1897 through the efforts of Adelaide Hunter Hoodless, Janet Lee and Erland Lee, the movement grew from local beginnings into an international organization. Visit the Erland Lee Museum, a National Historic Site, to discover this remarkable chapter of women’s history.

Local favourites with stories to tell

The Innsville Restaurant, Stoney Creek Furniture and the Village Restaurant — celebrating 50 years in 2026 — are among the businesses that give this community its character. Explore Olde Downtown Stoney Creek, where the Stoney Creek BIA brings neighbours together for its apple, strawberry and pumpkin festivals. And then there is the Powerhouse Restaurant: its striking 1894 brick building originally generated electricity for the Hamilton, Grimsby and Beamsville Electric Railway. Dinner with a side of local history!

Savour Stoney Creek

Come hungry! From longtime neighbourhood favourites to international flavours, Stoney Creek has something to satisfy just about every appetite. Enjoy a neighbourhood favourite like The Express, or explore something new. Discover Italian favourites at East Side Mario's and Little Caesars, Mediterranean-inspired dishes at Limani at Fifty Taverna and fresh, wholesome offerings at Raw Roots. Looking for something different? Explore the lakeside elegance of Edgewater Manor, Southern-style barbecue at Memphis Fire, Indian cuisine at Mountain Grill or Asian flavours at Banana Leaf. And that's just a taste of what's waiting to be discovered!

Waterfalls, waterfront and wide-open spaces

A sandy beach and marina on Lake Ontario? That is Fifty Point Conservation Area. Prefer a little splash and excitement? Wild Waterworks brings wave-pool and waterslide fun to the waterfront in summer. For dramatic scenery, head to Devil’s Punchbowl or Felker’s Falls. Explore the fascinating limestone landscape of Eramosa Karst, or the wetlands and trails of Saltfleet Conservation Area. There is always another outdoor adventure to discover.

Building for the future

From established neighbourhoods to new communities, Chamber members Losani Homes, DeFaveri Group and Marz Homes are among the businesses shaping the area’s growth.

A community for every stage of life

Stoney Creek is home to senior-living communities including Chamber members Amica, Grandview and Chartwell (formerly Seasons). Another development to watch is Pine Villa Care Centre on Highway 8: a new 224-bed long-term-care residence under construction, with a planned opening in 2027.

Mark your calendar!

There is always something to look forward to: the Battle of Stoney Creek reenactment (traditionally the first weekend in June), Boots in the Creek, the much-loved Winona Peach Festival, the annual Binbrook Fair presented by the Binbrook Agricultural Society, and the volunteer-organized Stoney Creek Santa Claus Parade. Check organizers’ websites for current dates.
